A pair of North Carolina natives earn offers from UNC football program
The UNC football program likes to keep the best prospects from the state of North Carolina home, as they've extended scholarship offers to two current high school teammates from a nearby high school.
On Wednesday, Mack Brown made a trip to Providence Day School in Charlotte to speak to some of the Tar Heels top recruiting targets.
An offer was extended to Class of 2026 wide receiver prospect Gordon Sellars. He's currently listed at 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, and holds offers from the likes of Appalachian State, Charlotte, East Carolina, and Virginia Tech.
The other offer was extended to Class of 2027 edge Griff Galloway. Although he is still just in his freshman year of high school, Galloway has earned some notable scholarship offers from North Carolina and Texas A&M. Based on his early recruitment, more big-time offers should be flowing in soon.
Brown and the UNC football program aren't strangers to Providence Day School, as Jordan Shipp, a four-star wide receiver from the Class of 2024, is set to be a freshman at North Carolina this fall.
It's never too early for college coaches to start evaluating the top talent among the high school ranks, especially within the state in which their school resides, as the UNC football program is making an effort to bring the best in-state talent available to Chapel Hill over the next few years.
Over the next few years, it's pretty safe to say that UNC football fans are going to hear more about these two student-athletes as their respective recruitments eventually will heat up.
