When the UNC football program gets back on the field for spring practices, there are going to be plenty of question marks surrounding what this team will look like come the fall.

Needless to say, there will be plenty of new faces in Chapel Hill, as some fan favorites such as Drake Maye and Cedric Gray are no longer with the program. However, when there's change, there's opportunities for others, as plenty of Tar Heels on the active roster will have a chance to earn a starting role with this year's squad.

As spring practices are quickly approaching, here are three position battles that we'll be keeping close tabs on.

. Offensive Line. 441. . OL. player. OL. . . Offensive Line

It's projected that Willie Lampkin will slide over from guard to center for the 2024 season, but other than Lampkin, this is a WHOLE new-looking crew.

Losing four of five starters from a season ago, this is a position group that provides a bit of concern for the UNC football program. Mack Brown and his staff have brought in some transfer additions to help re-shape this group, but there are still plenty of question marks surrounding how this unit will look when the season officially gets underway.

Although last year's unit struggled at times (especially in pass rush situations), they did a very good job of paving the way for star running back Omarion Hampton. As Hampton figures to be the focal point of the offense once again, it will be up to the boys up front to once again create holes for him to work with.

Even though it's unclear how the offensive line will look in terms of who plays where, this is a position area of major focus heading into spring camp.
