See the trend here?

The three players we've mentioned are all either freshman or redshirt freshman who haven't seen significant playing time so far in their respective early UNC football program careers.

Kaleb Cost is no different, as he's projected to see a signficant amount of playing time against West Virginia.

Primarily as an outside corner, Cost played a total of 27 snaps during the regular season. With Alijah Huzzie out due to injury, Cost is listed as the starting "star," as he'll split time with DJ Jones (who is expected to transfer this offseason.

Gene Chizik called this a "great opportunity" for Cost, as he will have the opportunity to prove that he can become a consistent presence in the Tar Heels secondary moving forward. This is certainly a group that could improve in 2024 and beyond, as Cost is a guy who could be a long-term fixture among this unit.
