The Diamond Heels' are heading to the national championship series after defeating West Virginia on Wednesday afternoon in Omaha.

North Carolina's offense absolutely erupted, and Owen Hull played a major role in that. The junior center fielder finished the afternoon with four hits in five at-bats, falling just a home run shy of the cycle. Three of his four hits went for extra bases, including a triple, and his three runs scored and two RBIs helped UNC put together its largest College World Series single-game scoring output.

Shortly after the game, Hull spoke to the ESPN broadcast team, and as you could expect, the Tar Heels' center fielder is extremely confident heading into Saturday's championship series.

Owen Hull's eye-opening statement will fire up the UNC fan base

Hull let it be known that the Diamond Heels didn't come this far just to make it to the finals.

They want to return to Chapel Hill after winning the whole daggum thing.

"Yeah, that's what we came here to do," Hull said on getting to the CWS Finals. "We didn't come here to enjoy the visit, we came here to win the natty, and we're going to do just that."

When you're playing at the level Owen Hull has played at essentially all season long (especially since the start of postseason play), you're allowed to have all the confidence in the world in not only yourself, but in the team as a whole.

Hull, along with the rest of the Diamond Heels, have lived by this statement since practices began last August:

"Anything you vividly imagine, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon must, absolutely must come to pass."

That vivid image was essentially where UNC is about to be on Saturday night, competing in the national title series. UNC is just two wins away from reaching the goal of bringing home the College World Series title, something that the program has never done prior.

The dream has guided them in every step of the way. From early morning workouts to practices in various types of weather conditions, each and every member of this team, from the staff to the players along with the personnel who play a major role behind the scenes, has grinded day in and day out to get to this point.

While the 9 players in the starting lineup and the pitchers who take the mound get all the credit, there are so many others who play an integral role in a run like this.

Hull knows what this team is capable of. Heck, the entire country knows that this team is legit. They are thrilled to be at this stage but aren't going to be satisfied until the job is complete, one that has them hoisting the national championship trophy in just a few days.

Confidence is sky-high right now for the UNC baseball program, and Hull knows that his team is determined to be the last team standing when its all said and done, and he isn't afraid to say it out loud.
