Omarion Hampton refused to be denied!
The former UNC football star didn't waste much time finding the end zone to start his second season in the NFL, but he definitely had to work for the yards he gained!
Missed the highlight touchdown run? Don't worry, we got you covered!

On third down and three, of course, the Los Angeles Chargers decided to give the football to their first-round pick from a season ago. Not only did Hampton pick up the first down, he refused to go down, breaking away from multiple defenders to find the end zone.
Here's a challenge for you: try to count how many defenders he broke away from!

We tried to count them, and the best we got was at least seven different defenders making contact during the run.
Unfortunately for Hampton and the Chargers, not much went their way on Sunday afternoon. Hampton finished with just 43 yards on 12 carries, as his team's offense came away with just 14 points in a disappointing loss to the Arizona Cardinals.
Not the way that Hampton and the Chargers wanted to start the 2026 season.
After being limited to just 9 games during his rookie season, it was good to see Hampton back on the field. While the numbers weren't quite what the former Tar Heel wanted, just seeing him being productive on the field is a great sign of things to come for him as the new season is officially underway.
While a loss in Week 1 isn't ideal, the good news is that there is plenty of football left to be played. Based on his incredible touchdown run, expect Hampton to find the end zone a ton this season as he looks to emerge as a breakout star in his sophomore season in the NFL.
