The UNC football program has been heavily invested in the linebacker market during the spring transfer portal window. In need of some depth at this position, the Tar Heels are set to host another potential option this week.

According to the source himself, Oklahoma State transfer Jonathan Agumadu, the former three-star prospect, will be taking an official visit to Chapel Hill on Wednesday.

Agumadu spent his freshman season at Oklahoma State, seeing limited action over the team's final four games of the regular season. Given his lack of playing time, the Dallas, Texas native was able to redshirt, allowing him to transfer with four years of eligibility remaining.

His story on the football field is an interesting one, given he didn't start playing defense until his junior season of high school. At McKinney High School, Agumadu found a niche as a linebacker, creating havoc that was tough for opposing offenses to handle. In 11 games during his senior season, Agumadu recorded 37 tackles, six sacks, three fumble recoveries, a blocked field goal and a touchdown, solidifying his status as a Division I caliber football player.

We've seen some trends during the transfer portal recruiting trail for North Carolina. When it comes to the trenches, the Tar Heels have been aiming to add veteran talent, but at other positions (such as linebacker), North Carolina is simply looking to add the best talent available.

Based on the trends, it seems like the UNC football program is very content with developing its linebacker core by bringing in a bunch of talented guys who they can mold into the Belichick's defensive scheme.

The UNC football program isn't done adding talent to its 2025 roster. Expect them to bring in a few more student-athletes before training camp gets underway, as Agumadu is a guy that the Tar Heels seem to really want to add to their roster in the near future.
