Just one day after backing off his pledge to Boston College, three-star wideout Nyqir Helton has found a new home in Chapel Hill.
The 6-foot, 170-pound skillplayer has announced his commitment to Bill Belichick and the UNC football program. This comes just days after Helton took an official visit to Chapel Hill, a trip that was more than enough to convince him to change his future plans.
An Atco, New Jersey native, Helton ranks as the No. 24 overall player from the state of New Jersey (According to 247Sports). As you can see in the clip below, Helton is absolutely lethal with the ball in his hands, as he could find the end zone on any given play where the ball is thrown his way.
The addition of Helton now gives North Carolina 39 commitments from the Class of 2026. He becomes the fifth Class of 2026 wide receiver to pledge to the Tar Heels, joining four-star Keeyun Chapman along with fellow three-stars Carnell Warren, Kei'Maurii Miles, and Zamarurious Robertson.
While it may seem that we continually discuss the program's priority of building a fully loaded recruiting class this year, the Tar Heels have been putting in the work to ensure that they are bringing in top-tier talent that can help shape the future of the UNC football program for years to come.
Fans of the UNC football program should be excited to see this group arrive on campus, as it is not only insane in terms of quantity but features an immense amount of quality as well.
At this point, who is going to let some specific media outlets (and individuals) know that their "reports" of Bill Belichick being on the hot seat are not realistic?
