Baseball remains unbeaten with a walk-off victory over Coastal Carolina
The UNC baseball program passed it's first top 25 test for the 2025 season, defeating No. 24-ranked Coastal Carolina in extra innings at Boshamer Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
A Gavin Gallaher sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the 11th inning helped secure the victory, but this huge defensive play in the top half of the inning helped preserve the tie.
My oh my what a relay!! We're stilling fighting!

While the UNC baseball team continues to get it done, have you ever wondered who is the voice behind their PitchCom system?
A dadgum legend helps call the pitches
Last season, pitching coach Bryant Gaines was the voice behind the UNC baseball program's PitchCom system.
This year, Scott Forbes tabbed into a UNC legend to handle the duties.
Former UNC basketball coach (and well-known Diamond Heels fan) Roy Williams is the voice behind the PitchCom system. In case you're unfamiliar with the PitchCom system, here's a breakdown:
"PitchCom is a wireless communication system. A catcher or coach presses a button according to which pitch they want, and the pitcher has a receiver in his cap to hear the pitch called."
Next time you watch a UNC baseball game, just think about what pitch is being relayed to the Tar Heels pitcher by the legendary voice of Williams.
UNC Softball brings home two conference weekly awards
The ACC Pitcher and Player of the Week both wear Carolina Blue.
After twirling a no-hitter, Kenna Raye Dark was named the conference's pitcher of the week. For the second time this season, Kat Rodriguez was tabbed as the player of the week. The second baseman hit .526 (10-for-19) across six games last week, recording 10 hits, including two home runs and three doubles.
