There's still basketball to be played for the 2024-2025 UNC basketball squad, but that doesn't mean that the staff isn't starting to look ahead to the future as well.
As reported by Joe Tipton of On3, the Tar Heels are one of many schools who have reached out to Nevada transfer forward Nick Davidson. The list includes 30 teams (which is impressive given that it was revealed he was entering the portal just two days ago), as North Carolina is among many programs, including a handful of ACC teams, who are interested in the rising senior.
Nevada transfer forward Nick Davidson has heard from the following schools since entering the portal, per source:

The 6-foot-10, 238-pound forward is coming off his best season statistically of his collegiate career, as he averaged 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per-game. He shot the basketball at a 50% clip, including just over 37% from beyond-the-arc.
Davidson is a guy who can flat-out score the basketball. He posted 9 20-point games, including a 26-point outburst in Nevada's season opener along with back-to-back 25-point performances at the beginning of February.
While Davidson would make a lot of sense for North Carolina, it's important to note that he might ultimately choose his next landing spot at a place where he can play alongside his brother, Blake. After Nick Davidson entered the transfer portal, Blake, a former Nevada commit, requested his release from his letter of intent from the program shortly after, as it appears that the idea is for the brothers to play one college season together.
Would the Tar Heels be interested in a package deal?
It's not set in stone that this is the case, but based on the previous situation, you could gather that it would be an ideal situation for the Davidson family. While we monitor the Tar Heels interest, this is an aspect to keep in mind.
It's no secret that the UNC basketball program will be very active in the transfer portal market this offseason, as you can expect the Tar Heels to be linked to a good amount of players who can help them re-shape the roster heading into the 2025-2026 season.
