Recruiting is a game of ever-changing information and momentum.

As college programs look to build their next recruiting class, they never stop exploring all of the potential options that are on the board. For student-athletes, they typically are very receptive to listen to what programs have to offer, regardless of when they throw their hat in the ring.

For Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, you can add another Class of 2026 standout to their recruiting board.

Cameron Williams, the No. 11-ranked player in the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports, has not only picked up an offer from the Tar Heels but has scheduled an official visit to Chapel Hill for November 7.

In the world of social media, it's nearly impossible to keep anything a secret. However, Williams and the Tar Heels did a fantastic job of hiding their mutual interest over the last few months.

Travis Branham of 247Sports not only reported the news of Williams' upcoming visit, but added that the UNC basketball program extended an offer to him back in July.

In this day and age, that's extremely impressive to keep under wraps for that amount of time!

If you're not familiar with Williams' game, Adam Fi, the Director of Scouting at 247Sports, had this to say regarding the Phoenix, Arizona native:

"Williams is a rapidly ascending prospect with a wealth of long-term tools, and while he is not yet a finished product by any means, he has one of the higher long-term upsides in the class. Now standing at 6-foot-11 with shoes on, he has mobility, athleticism, budding face-up skill, and defensive versatility alike.

He’s a bouncy leaper, excellent runner, and can really cover the court at his size. He has soft natural touch and shows shooting potential to not only space the floor, but even shoot off the dribble, even with a relatively quick natural release. He’s comfortable putting the ball on the floor a bit, albeit a bit upright, and has a terrific left hand, even making tough finishes around the rim. Defensively, he’s a true rim protector (3.3 per game in 3SSB play) and active rebounder (8.5 per game, including 2.4 offensive). He’s diligent about getting into a stance when pulled to the perimeter, proactive moving his feet, and disciplined contesting shots, even if he’s not yet great laterally or always polished with the angle of his feet.

Physically, he’s cut up, but still lean with a more naturally narrow core (7-foot-1.5 wingspan). He’s not averse to playing through contact, and has good natural body control even when knocked off his spots, but his game should go to new levels as he adds more muscle mass."

This news goes to show that more goes down behind the scenes on the recruiting trail. Now, we can officially add another top talent from the Class of 2026 to North Carolina's radar, as the interest appears to be very mutual on both ends.
