UNC Football lands another commitment

After visiting Chapel Hill this weekend, Maryland native David Jackson announced his commitment to the UNC football program.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound defensive lineman from Olney, Maryland, was also heavily recruited by Miami, South Florida, Syracuse, and Virginia Tech. The Class of 2026 defensive lineman plays high school football for Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

Jackson is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports. He is considered a top-20 prospect from the state of Maryland, currently ranked No. 19 overall on the list.

The future of the UNC basketball program takes center stage

The three members of the UNC basketball program's 2025 recruiting class were on-hand for the Tar Heels regular season finale against rival Duke.

During a media timeout, the trio of Isaiah Denis, Derek Dixon and Caleb Wilson were introduced to the home crowd, as they, of course, received a very loud ovation.

While they were spectators for this year's matchup, the trio will officially become a part of the biggest rivalry in all of sports by this time next year.

The Diamond Heels suffer first loss (and series loss)

Unfortunately, the Diamond Heels' incredible stretch to begin the 2025 season has come to an end.

The Tar Heels suffered their first loss (and series loss) of the season to new ACC foe Stanford. North Carolina lost two of three games, beginning conference play with a disappointing 1-2 record.

After an offensive slugfest between the two teams in game one of the series (one that Stanford came out victorious in), North Carolina responded strongly by clubbing four home runs en route to a 10-run mercy rule victory on Saturday afternoon.

In the rubber game of the series on Sunday, Stanford's pitching was too much for the Diamond Heels to handle, as North Carolina failed to score and collected just six hits.
