North Carolina isn't done identifying potential Class of 2026 recruiting targets

The latest offer that has been extended goes to another high-rising prospect who has been playing impressive basketball as of late.

There's still plenty of work to do on the recruiting trail for the Class of 2026. Courtney Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program are well-aware of that, as they're still identifying players from this graduating class who they believe fit the future of Carolina Basketball well.

The Nike EYBL circuit is a great resource for college coaches, having the opportunity to see some of the country's top talents in action at one given event. After extending an offer to Aaliah Spaight, North Carolina followed it by extended another scholarship offer to a high-rising four-star talent.

That player is Jhai Johnson, a 6-foot-4 wing/forward from Oakland, California. Leading up to her senior year of high school, Johnson is regarded as a top-75-ranked player in the Class of 2026.

In Nike EYBL action, Johnson put together sound outstanding efforts. She averaged 14.2 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game, showing how she can impact the game in a variety of ways.

Plus, she isn't even regarded as a true post player, making her shot blocking numbers even more impressive!

North Carolina has yet to secure a commitment from this graduating class, but it's important to note that recruiting (especially now with the transfer portal) is a tad bit slower than normal, as only two of the top 11-ranked players in the class have determined their future home (including No. 1 overall Saniyah Hall's commitment to USC on Friday).

In the meantime, the UNC women's basketball program is looking to put together another very strong recruiting class. Based on Banghart's tenure thus far with the Tar Heels, it's safe to say that she'll find a way to get it done once again.

Could Jhai Johnson be one of the pieces to this upcoming recruiting class for North Carolina?
