According to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports, the UNC football program is expected to hire current UCF assistant AD for player personnel Andrew Blaylock.
A former walk-on at Florida, Blaylock, a Durham, North Carolina native, started his work in college football at Louisville. He was with the Cardinals from 2011-2014, working in recruiting and player personnel. He then spent a season at Texas State in the same role before spending six years at Applachian State, working as the program's director of player personnel.
In June of 2022, Blaylock was hired as a special assistant to head coach Gus Malzahn at UCF, leading him to take over in his current role with the program.
Bill Belichick and Michael Lombardi are working toward building the best staff possible (both on-field and front office), as Blaylock is a high-rising front office person who has the ability to make a major impact on the UNC football program.
If Blaylock is officially offered (and accepts) the job, he'll be returning to his home state, an area where he became a high school football legend at Durham Jordan High School.
