The UNC basketball program is exploring every possible option available via the transfer portal.

North Carolina is among the many teams who have interest in Indiana transfer forward Malik Reneau. The 6-foot-9 forward from Miami, Florida has spent the first three collegiate seasons with the Hoosiers.

While he's not a threat from beyond the arc, Reneau is very effective in the post. He holds a career 55.5% from the floor, averaging double-figure scoring in each of his previous two seasons. Although his scoring numbers did take a dip during his junior season, Reneau still led Indiana in scoring with 13.3 points per game.

Of course, showing early interest doesn't mean that the player will end up wearing Carolina Blue. In fact, there will be a handful of players who will be linked to the UNC basketball program throughout the process.

A lot depends on what players on the current roster decide to do with their futures as well. Based on how the roster shapes up over the next few weeks, Jim Tanner and the UNC basketball program will be heavily pursuing some of the top available players in the transfer portal to help fill the voids.

Reneau is certainly a guy to keep an eye on, as he is a veteran player who has been one of the best forwards in a very competitive conference for each of the last two seasons. Based on his resume, the UNC basketball program won't be alone in potentially trying to add this talented forward to their roster for the 2025-2026 season.
