The 2026 recruiting class for the UNC football program got even spookier on Halloween night!
North Carolina has added yet another four-star talent, earning a commitment from four-star Baltimore, Maryland native DQ Forkpa.

Forkpa's decision comes following his visit to Chapel Hill last weekend. While Florida was considered the favorite during the summer months, the likes of Missouri and Maryland made strong pushes to change that narrative, but in the end, the St. Frances Academy standout found his next home in Chapel Hill.
After losing a player who elected to decommit, the program still featured 38 committed players among this given recruiting cycle. Add Forkpa to the mix, and the Tar Heels are once again just one commitment away from 40 total within the Class of 2026, a number that general manager Michael Lombardi has indicated is the goal for this incoming group of talents.
Rivals tabs him as the No. 16-ranked linebacker in the Class of 2026, while he ranks as North Carolina's 9th highest rated player in 247Sports' latest rankings. With his addition, 247Sports also tabs the UNC football program as having the No. 15-ranked recruiting class in the country.
The UNC football program received this great news just before they take the field against Syracuse in a Halloween night battle. It's yet another example of how strong of a recruiting class this staff has put together in its first go-around, and the scary thing is, they are far from done!
Like the current players, the high school recruits are all buying into the idea of not only playing for the legendary Bill Belichick, but ultimately helping the program reach the level of national prominence it aspires to achieve within the next few years.
