It's difficult to overlook a 7-foot-5 basketball prospect.

Cherif Millogo has certainly caught the attention of Michael Malone and UNC, as evidenced by members of the Tar Heels coaching staff traveling to see him at his local high school.

The result of the visit: a scholarship offer from North Carolina.

UNC offers 7-foot-5 big man Cherif Millogo

The Tar Heels are now officially joining in on the Cherif Millogo sweepstakes, extending an offer to the 7-foot-5, 250-pound big man from the Class of 2027.

Currently regarded as a four-star prospect, Millogo is ranked as the No. 37 overall player in his graduating class (according to Rivals). He already holds a handful of offers from the likes of Alabama, Arizona, BYU, Kentucky and USC, to name a few.

Now, you can add North Carolina to the mix.

Of course, you'd expect players of Millogo's size to need more development. Let's face it: it must be extremely difficult to learn how to use your body properly when you are that big in stature.

In the same token, you can't teach 7-foot-5, and college programs across the country know that he can be developed to be a massive force in the paint for years to come.

NBA Draft Room did an assessment on Millogo, one that shows you exactly where he is currently as a high school basketball recruit:

Millogo is a massive 7-2+ center who is very raw and early in his development. He’s got obviously impressive size and decent movement skills but has a long ways to go in working on his frame and his skills.

Has potential to be a very good interior defender once he learns the fundamentals of playing big, staying out of foul trouble and being in proper position.

He shows some flashes on the offensive end and could develop into more than just a dunker.

No one should be surprised that Millogo emerged onto UNC's radar. In fact, Division I programs across the country are taking notice, seeing what he can do on the basketball court that would be difficult for anyone to match up with.

Think about what a nightmare it is for opponents, who definitely don't match his combination of height and weight, to have to game plan for him.

As he continues to build his frame and refine his game, Millogo is going to continue rising up the recruiting rankings. There's no doubt that he'll have plenty of options to choose from, and North Carolina would sure love to have him calling the Dean Smith Center his future basketball home.
