The UNC football program has lost six offensive linemen this offseason, but are in the process of adding more reinforcements to begin the Bill Belichick era.
On Sunday night, the Tar Heels added a massive addition at this position.
Steve Wiltfong of On3 reported that Prairie View A&M offensive lineman William Boone has signed with the Tar Heels. The 6-foot-7, 340-pound lineman commits to the UNC football program just a few days after his official visit to Chapel Hill.
The UNC football program has made an emphasis on adding talent in the trenches, looking to bring in both offensive and defensive line depth. While three transfer offensive linemen have already committed to North Carolina, Boone becomes the fourth, as this group looks to be a new-looking unit come the start of the 2025 season.
Boone is coming off a season in which he didn't allow a sack. What's enticing about his availability is that he has two seasons of eligibility remaining, making him a potential multi-year solution at one of the spots along the offensive line.
With Boone's addition, the UNC football program now has 11 transfers set to make their way to Chapel Hill. Don't be surprised if more are on the way, as Belichick and the Tar Heels are still very much active in hopes of bringing more talent to North Carolina before training camp gets under way in a few months.
