Mac Horvath continues to do Mac Horvath-like things!
The former UNC baseball standout is tearing it up for the Tampa Bay Rays' High-A Affiliate, the Bowling Green Hot Rods, as he was named the MiLB South Atlantic League Player of the Week.

Mac Horvath hit 4 HR over the course of the week, including a two-HR game (with a grand slam!) in which he totaled 7 RBIs on the day. 💣 pic.twitter.com/TM6v1M0p6S
Horvath made it extremely difficult for opposing pitchers to get him out, hitting an impressive .368 during the last week of action. To add to that, Horvath showcased his ability to hit for power, clubbing four home runs over that span.
His best outing came in a two home run performance (including a grand slam), a game in which he finished with seven total RBI (the second-most ever by a Hot Rods hitter in a single game).
OH, let's not forget to mention that this outstanding performance came against the Aberdeen Ironbirds, the High-A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, the organization that traded him to the Rays last summer.
Talk about a way to make a statement in your first trip back to visit your former ball club!
Yesterday, Mac Horvath returned to Aberdeen for the first time since being traded in 2024.

Diamond Heels fans know just how good Mac Horvath is at the sport of baseball. His production at the professional ranks doesn't surprise anyone who follows baseball in Chapel Hill, given the stellar career he put together while wearing the Carolina Blue uniform.
If he continues to hit the way he did last week, don't be surprised to see Horvath earn a call-up to Double-A at some point this season.
