Major League scouts are simply dreaming of the possibility that their ball club could select UNC baseball star Luke Stevenson in the 2025 MLB Draft.
Essentially a lock to be a first round pick, Stevenson has put together another very strong season for the Diamond Heels.
On Friday, Stevenson clubbed a milestone home run, one that is a tremendous accolade in more than one way.
Luke Stevenson's 30th career home run is a 412-foot blast to dead center that leaves his bat at 109 mph.

The homer is also Stevenson's 16th of the season, the most by a @DiamondHeels catcher since at least 1999. Chris Iannetta hit 15 in 2004. pic.twitter.com/ZurvPbTQz9
With his 412-foot blast against NC State, Stevenson has now hit 30 career home runs as a member of the UNC baseball program. After hitting 14 during his freshman season, the Wake Forest, North Carolina native has already surpassed that number this season, hitting 16 baseballs out of the park with plenty of baseball left to be played.
In fact, according to Pat James, Stevenson's 16 home runs was the most by a UNC baseball catcher since 1999. Going back 21 years now, Chris Iannetta hit 15 home runs during the 2004 season, a mark that Stevenson has now slugged past.
Stevenson has been an integral part of the UNC baseball program during his two seasons in Chapel Hill, playing a vital role in last year's trip to Omaha. The Tar Heels' backstop hopes that the Diamond Heels have another deep postseason run in them, as he has the potential to add even more homers to his stat line before the 2025 season comes to a close.
The Diamond Heels close out a three-game set with NC State on Sunday afternoon at Boshamer Stadium. They will host UNC Wilmington for a single non-conference game on Tuesday (their final regular season home game) before traveling to Tallahassee to finish out the regular season slate.
