A player who leads his team in scoring in his first collegiate start, one which resulted in a double-digit victory, would typically be happy with the outcome.

However, in the case of Luka Bogavac, the international product was not happy with his overall performance.

Shortly after the final buzzer sounded, Bogavac joined Adam Lucas on the Tar Heel Sports Network to discuss his performance and the team's victory. The junior guard was not pleased by any means, putting himself on blast, indicating that he needs to play better.

"Personally, I have to find my rhythm," Bogavac said. "I will spend more time working and be more comfortable, and my play will be better for sure. My teammates put me in a great spot to enable me to lead the team in scoring, but I missed everything tonight…I can't depend on my shooting ability only. I want to contribute to winning and make good plays for others. I can play better defense. I must."

For a guy who recorded five assists and zero turnovers, you would think that type of output as a facilitator would satisfy someone like Bogavac. However, he isn't happy with that either, noting how he can do an even better job of facilitating the rock.

"I could do a better job on passing," Bogavac added. "My passing ability can be a plus for our team. If I'm not making my shots, I can pass and make everyone else happy and make sure the ball doesn't stick in my hands."

While his shots weren't falling early, Bogavac rebounded nicely to put together a solid overall performance. However, Bogavac knows he can be better overall, as you can tell he holds himself to a very high standard to be the best player he can be.

What fans of the UNC basketball program should take away from Bogavac's post game comments is this: the Tar Heels found themselves a true competitor. He isn't someone who will be content with leading his team in scoring: he goes out on the floor every night not only looking to score, but to be the best teammate possible, using his passing ability to find open looks for his guys.

Luka Bogavac has the perfect mindset to help guide this team to where they ultimately want to be. He knows that he must contribute to winning on both ends of the floor, and you can rest assured that he will put in the work to make sure that happens. Bogavac and the Tar Heels won't complain about securing another victory, but they surely know that there's plenty more work to be done to improve as the 2025-2026 season rolls along.
