After a year that didn't workout for him in Chapel Hill, Kyan Evans once again hit the transfer portal to find a new home for his senior season.
He took time to evaluate his options and came to a conclusion that a reunion with his former coaching staff at Colorado State was the best move for him to make as he is set to wrap up his college basketball career this upcoming season.
Kyan Evans commits to Minnesota
Just a few days after his official visit, Evans has decided to commit to Minnesota. He will be reunited with his former head coach, Niko Medved, who took over as the Gophers' head coach last offseason.

If anyone knows how to get the most out of Evans on the basketball court, it would be Medved.
Let's remember: Evans had an outstanding sophomore season at Colorado State, a year in which he shot 47% from the floor and 44% from three-point range. His success in Medved's system was a major reason why multiple programs heavily recruited him in the transfer portal, including North Carolina, as premium shooting and playmaking ability is highly sought after across the country.
Now, the duo will pair up once again, a move that should make a major impact on Evans as he looks to bounce back after his lone season in Chapel Hill.
Medved helped Cade Tyson, another former Tar Heel, get back on track after a season in which he struggled to earn even playing time. Tyson went from being sparingly used to extremely important, averaging 19.6 points and 5.4 rebounds per game in his final season of college eligibility.
While it's disappointing that Evans didn't end up being the player Tar Heel fans hoped for, there should be no hard feelings toward him as he pursues this new opportunity. Transfer additions aren't always guaranteed to work out, as the hope is that Evans will find success in his new landing spot.
