The new world of media has provided an outlet for athletes to speak their mind and voice their opinions. While it's cool to hear from some of the biggest stars in sports, sometimes you just have to shake your head and realize that everyone has an opinion....
Speaking of opinions, Kevin Durant is never shy, as he's actively on social media going back-and-forth with fans regarding various topics. His latest Twitter spat came after an appearance on the Mind the Game podcast, hosted by LeBron James and Steve Nash.
KD on the commitment to longevity in the NBA:

“Some people say ‘oh, I want to go play baseball’… Some play 22 straight [years].”

While the trio spoke about longevity in the league, Durant threw shade at Michael Jordan, making a comment regarding his decision to retire to pursue an opportunity to play baseball.
"Every so often. Like I, yeah, I'm 10, 12 years in, I've got four MVPs and four championships. Like, but do I still want to do this sh**? You know what I'm saying? You know how it is. Some people say, I wanna go play baseball."
Of course, Nash and James were quick to chuckle at the comment, but it just goes to show how naive these athletes could be.
In one breath, Durant is speaking about the constant contemplation of how long someone aspires to play the sport. Then, he throws shade at Jordan for actually following his heart and taking a chance in another sport.
Durant, now with the Houston Rockets, went onto imply that his goal is to play 20 years in the NBA, essentially throwing another unnecessary dagger Jordan's way, given the G.O.A.T only played 15 seasons in the league.
Sure, Jordan didn't stick around for 20 years, and his career (in terms of his decisions to retire and return) are unorthodox to say the least. However, there is no player in the sports' history that should be critiquing Jordan, as his resume alone speaks volumes of how he's in a league of his own in terms of the greatest of all-time conversation.
Of course, Durant back peddled when he was called a "puppet" for LeBron on social media.
Mj retired 3 times. It’s okay to call that out my brother, I got 1 million dollars worth of Mj shoes in my house hahaha. It’s okay, he retired 3 times and still the goat. Ima applaud that just like Ima applaud playing 22 years at an ELITE level. I like basketball tho, you love…

Kevin, since you want to critique Jordan so much for no apparent reason, let's critique you a bit pal!
-Jordan played in 51 fewer games and still has more career points than you.
-You might have more "seasons" in the NBA, but do three consecutive seasons of playing less than 55 games even count?
-Jordan's six, yes, six, titles came when he was THE guy. You joined a team that had already won titles and served as Steph Curry's sidekick. (LeBron had to run to Miami to win a title similarly.)
-It's embarrassing that you have NO All-Defensive team honors over 17 seasons played (MJ has plenty you can take a look at.
-Maybe try sticking with the same team for more than three seasons. It's a common theme that wherever you go, the franchise suffers.
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of the pointless Jordan criticism. It feels like LeBron James has his puppets in the NBA (cough Durant, Draymond Green, etc.) speak his praises while trying to tear Jordan down in an effort to prove some type of random point.
Unfortunately, the unneeded criticism doesn't change the fact that NO one even comes close to Michael Jordan's career resume.
