You can add another Belichick to the UNC football program's coaching staff.

Matt Zenitz of 247Sports and Inside Carolina reported that Brian Belichick is set to be hired as the UNC football program's safeties coach. He will join his father, Bill, and brother, Steve, in Chapel Hill for this new Belichick coaching adventure.

Brian Belichick spent each of the previous 9 seasons with the New England Patriots. The youngest Belichick joined his father in New England immediately upon his college graduation. He spent the first year in the scouting department for the Patriots before being transitioned to a coaching assistant role for three seasons. In 2020, he earned a promotion to serve as the lead safeties coach and held the position for five years, including through the transition with his father's exit from the organization.

Once Mike Vrabel, the new head coach of the Patriots, elected to not retain Belichick on his staff, it was widely expected that he would follow his father and brother to Chapel Hill. Now, The trio of family members will now team up in an effort to bring a winning culture to the UNC football program.

Considering the reputation that Bill Belichick has as a defensive mind, it's safe to say that his sons gained plenty of wisdom from their Super Bowl winning father over the years. There's no doubt that they'll be on the same page as they work together to improve the team's overall defensive unit, a group that certainly could be better than its had in seasons past.

Now, the Belichick staff member count is up to three. At this point, it might be safe to say that we've reached the limit (at least from a coaching staff perspective).
