The NFL trade deadline certainly didn't disappoint.
While moves were expected to be made, no one envisioned the New York Jets pulling off the biggest two moves of the day.
The first of those trades sent All-Pro corner Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for a package headlined by two first round picks.
Gardner, who spent his first three and a half season in East Rutherford, now takes his talents to Indianapolis, a place where he hopes to help the current 7-2 Colts make a deep postseason run. There's just one problem to solve:
What number will Gardner wear with his new squad?
Former UNC football star Josh Downs had possession of the No. 1. However, Downs showed that he's an elite teammate by giving his number to Gardner. In need of a new jersey number, Downs didn't have to look far for one (in terms of numbers), changing his jersey number to No. 2.

Downs is in the midst of another solid season, currently having 35 receptions for 313 yards and three scores through eight games played. He's earned the reputation as one of the best slot receivers the league has to offer, and now will have the opportunity to compete against arguably the top corner in the NFL on an everyday basis in practice.
In some cases, number disputes could become an issue, especially if both players are emotionally attached to the number. However, this wasn't an issue for Downs, as he was a team player by making the switch to accomodate his new teammate, one who will be a major boost to the team's defensive unit moving forward.
Just remember: when you tune in to watch Downs on Sunday, be on the lookout for No. 2 on the offensive side of the football. It's certain that he won't be difficult to find.
