For years, Bill Belichick developed a reputation as a stoic, serious, and reserved individual in public, especially when it came to handling the media. His desire to win and focus on discipline often was at the forefront of his personality, especially during his time as the head coach of the New England Patriots.
Now, the head coach of the UNC football program has gone through a total public image change, courtesy of his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
When Belichick, now 73-years-old, took the UNC football gig, Hudson's involvement became a media focus point. While Belichick, and the program, have claimed this to not be an issue, the situation just keeps getting worse, as now we can add a whole new element to the fold.
The couple, one that includes a 49-year age gap, graced the cover of US Weekly magazine. It is believed that Belichick is the first-ever coach to earn the honor.
It's one that UNC football fans really wish wouldn't have occurred.
Incredible. Bill Belichick becomes 1st coach ever featured on the cover of @usweekly the week after losing to UCF pic.twitter.com/ZwY9zjeyPF

The focus is on Hudson, as the title reads "Who is the Real Jordon Hudson." Here's the caption that US Weekly used to highlight the story via their social media platforms:
"She’s been called a gold digger and an opportunist — but is the woman at the center of one of football’s biggest off-field stories simply misunderstood? Us Weekly cuts through the noise to find out more about Jordon Hudson — Bill Belichick’s 24-year-old girlfriend who’s managing his brand and changing his public image."
Please- give me a break!
At a time where the UNC football program looks absolutely awful on the football field, the last thing the university needs is for this circus to continue on its current path. From Hudson being on the field prior to games to situations like this, it's gotten to a point where this situation has become a nightmare for North Carolina.
Regardless of what they say around the program, this IS a distraction, one that North Carolina doesn't need as it looks to get the football program back on track.
This relationship has caused nothing but headaches and has simply impacted Belichick's public image in a very negative way. While Belichick is a legendary head coach, the baggage and headaches his involvment with Jordon Hudson has brought is certainly not worth it, especially when the team on the field isn't playing well at all.
Instead of doing photoshoots, let's get back to the drawing board on how to fix this sinking ship of a football program.
