While his recruitment has been very interesting to say the least, we finally know where Isaiah Denis will begin his college basketball career next summer.

Denis has elected to stay close to home, committing to Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program.

The 6-foot-5 combo guard from Davidson, North Carolina, chose the Tar Heels over Miami, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, and Wake Forest. He currently ranks as the No. 47 overall prospect in the Class of 2025 and the No. 2 ranked player from the state of North Carolina (according to 247Sports).

Leading up to his decision, there was some belief that Denis could be heading to Wake Forest or even Ohio State, but as his recruitment process has been since the UNC basketball program got involved just over 100 days ago, opinions on where things stood seemed to depend on who you asked.

At the end of the day, and at the finish line of his recruitment process, it's the UNC basketball program that lands the commitment.

Denis becomes the second player from the Class of 2025 to commit to the Tar Heels, joining fellow guard Derek Dixon. The goal for the UNC basketball program was to add at least two guards during this recruiting cycle, as you can now check that off the "to do list" for the UNC basketball program.

While the UNC basketball program has missed out on some of their priority targets, the Tar Heels are still in the mix for some of the remaining Class of 2025 talent available. It goes without saying that it's likely that North Carolina will look to add at least one more player in this recruiting class, as Denis' addition allows them to focus on adding a wing/stretch four or even a big man if the right opportunity presents itself.
