"IT'S LIVE ACTION!"
We all remember the legendary Hubert Davis quote from the 2022 NCAA title game, proof that the former player (now head coach) of the Tar Heels still brings that energy every time he takes the floor.
While his team's upcoming contest against No. 19-ranked Kansas at home should amp his team up enough leading up to tip-off, Hubert Davis expects his team to be this way every time they compete, regardless of who they are playing.
"I don't care who we're playing, I want them to be amped up."

In his press conference ahead of the top-25 clash, Davis was asked about whether his squad was amped up for this early-season opportunity. His answer is one that Tar Heel fans should've expected from the fiery head coach.
"I don't care who we're playing, I want them to be amped up."
Hubert Davis has the right mindset when it comes to competing. While some opponents might not present the same type of hype that a Kansas or Duke would, it's vital for teams to be locked in and ready to go, regardless of the opponent ahead of them.
On Friday night, the Tar Heels won't need any additional motivation: playing in front of the home crowd, a White Out (thanks to Caleb Wilson) and a top-25 opponent who would serve as a great resume boost for a team looking to make a deep run come March.
It doesn't get much better than that on a Friday night in Chapel Hill!
North Carolina is one of the premier programs that college basketball has to offer. It's a given that every time they take the court, their opponent will be amped up to bring their best game in hopes of defeating the Tar Heels.
Hubert Davis understands that, and wants that mindset instilled in his team. Friday night is set to be a thriller in Chapel Hill, one where he won't need to explain much to his team in order for them to be ready to compete.
