Unfortunately, Hubert Davis didn't read our article from just six days ago regarding how Caleb Wilson needs to be involved more in the second half.
Read: Coaching malpractice: how is Caleb Wilson barely involved in the second half?
Disclaimer
By no means am I claiming to be a top-tier basketball coach. I've had my fair share of coaching at the rec level, and I must say my teams won quite a few games.
Even an amateur, like myself, understands the importance of getting your best player involved early and often.
It's mind-boggling
One game where the opposing team keeps the ball out of his hands for long stretches of time should be a fluke. Now, this is becoming a trend, one that has to stop.
At what point does one of the coaches on the bench look at the team in the huddle and simply say, "guys, get the ball in Caleb's hands."
The stat below from Saturday afternoon's game will surely infuriate you, as Wilson was basically invisible again down the stretch.
How long did he not attempt a field goal?!
Thanks to our friend Isaac Schade, other than a last second three-point attempt, Wilson did not attempt a field goal for over 10 minutes down the stretch. His last attempt came with 10:19 remaining, and after that, the Tar Heels felt no need to get Wilson involved.
Here we go again with Caleb Wilson not getting enough shots:

Aside from the desperation 3 at the end of the game, Wilson's last field goal attempt came with 10:19 to go.
A trend to think about
Early on in the game, Wilson attempted just two shots over the first 8:51 minutes of action. When Seth Trimble went to the bench, Wilson went on an 8-0 scoring run, completely taking over for the UNC basketball program.
As much as we all love Trimble, this is a glaring fact that occurs when both share the court together.
Wilson was not even involved in the final 10 minutes, but Trimble attempted multiple shots, including a questionable floater in which he drove into a swarm of Cal defenders, and a three-point heave that had absolutely no chance of going in.
Again, there was Wilson, standing around as a decoy.
When will Hubert Davis realize
The UNC basketball program will go as far as Caleb Wilson will take them. Watch any other team in the country- it's a guarantee that their best player touches the ball nearly every possession.
Name me one who gets avoided as much as Wilson does, I'll wait.
The UNC basketball program is wasting arguably the best talent that has rolled into Chapel Hill in quite some time. What's even scarier is the fact that no adjustments are being made to rectify this, only adding to the notion that Davis' job security is very much in question, regardless of if they can turn this thing around or not.
