Harrison Ingram's NBA journey is set to continue with a new team this upcoming season

Harrison Ingram has gained a lot of professional basketball experience during his first two seasons in the NBA.

As a two-way player for the San Antonio Spurs organization, the former Tar Heel appeared in 12 NBA games, mostly earning his reps with the Austin Spurs, the club's G League affiliate. In 88 games for the Austin Spurs, Ingram averaged 14.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game, showing off the various ways he can impact a basketball game.

While his time in the NBA was limited, he did get the opportunity to be with the team during their run to this year's NBA Finals. Being part of something like that isn't guaranteed for players who enter the league, but Ingram got a taste of what he hopes is the first of many trips to the Finals in his career (with additional motivation to be playing in these big-time games).

Even though his two years with his hometown team were solid, Ingram was in search for a new home this offseason, and found one with another Western Conference squad.

Harrison Ingram signs with the Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz announced on social media that they have signed the former Tar Heel forward. Per team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based on his first two seasons in the NBA, you'd have to think that this contract is another two-way deal for Ingram. However, there is a chance that he earned a standard contract with the franchise, having the opportunity to compete for a roster spot when training camp opens up in just a few weeks.

Ingram put together a stellar season in Chapel Hill during the 2023-2024 campaign, serving as one of the key pieces on the Tar Heels' ACC regular-season championship squad. While he could've elected to return to Chapel Hill for another season, one that Tar Heel fans desperately hoped he would choose to do, Ingram decided it was time to take his talents to the pros, but unfortunately, he slid in the draft toward the end of the second round.

Since, Ingram has been working hard to prove he belongs on an NBA roster, and by what he's done in the G League, you'd have to think that a franchise would've realized what he could bring to the table by now.

Hopefully, the Jazz are the team that provides him with that extended look at the NBA level.

Ingram does a little bit of everything well. He can score the basketball, facilitate to get open looks for his teammates, and let's not forget the improving rebounding skills that have been growing ever since he stepped foot on campus in Chapel Hill. He is a winning player who will do whatever it takes to win, and he's definitely a guy who can make a positive impact on your locker room as well.

San Antonio was a great experience for Ingram, but now it's time for him to explore another opportunity as he continues to chase his ultimate dream of sticking on an NBA roster.
