The NCAA Tournament field is officially set: the UNC basketball program squeezed their way into the big dance!

North Carolina will be featured in a play-in game on Tuesday at Dayton, as they'll be matched up with the San Diego State Aztecs.

The Aztecs are coming off a strong 21-9 season, finishing fourth in the Mountain West Conference. They reached the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament but suffered a 10-point loss to Boise State to end their tournament run.

North Carolina, as we know, got hot down the stretch, winning eight of their last 10 games. Both losses in that span came to rival Duke, the most recent being in the ACC Tournament semifinals (a game that was looking like a blowout in Duke's favor but ended up being a one possession game in favor of the Blue Devils).

Now, both teams come in with a lot to prove as they hope to advance to Friday's first round action against Ole Miss.

Here's what you need to know about the San Diego State Aztecs.

Key Players

Boyd, a senior guard, leads the Aztecs in scoring (13.4 points) and assists (4.0). His best outing of the season came in a win over Boise State on February 15, a game in which he scored a season-high 24 points while recording six rebounds.

The Garnerville, New York native has scored in double-figures in eight of his last 9 games, including at least 18 points in each of his previous three contests.

In his third season with the Aztecs (following a redshirt season his true freshman year), Miles Byrd has taken his game to the next level this season.

The 6-foot-7 guard from Stockton, California has embraced his bigger role, setting new career-highs in essentially every statistical category.

Coming into the NCAA Tournament, Byrd averages 12.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per-game. He's a player that does a little bit of everything for San Diego State.

A sophomore guard from Modesto, California, BJ Davis is another player who has taken on a bigger role for the Aztecs this season.

The 6-foot-2 guard is one of the team's top shooters, knocking down 42.5% of his attempts from the floor (including just under 37% of his three-point field goal attempts). He's been very consistent in terms of scoring the basketball down the stretch, scoring in double-figures in three of the Aztecs last four games.
