Garrison Brooks has been competing overseas over the last few seasons. Now, a potential return to the states may be in play.

On Friday, the Birmingham Squadron, the G-League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, announced that they have acquired the returning player rights to the former UNC basketball star in exchange for the returning player rights to Jalen Slawson.

After beginning his professional basketball career with the Westchester Knicks, Brooks elected to take his talents to the Korean Basketball League. Due to injury, Brooks' time in Korea was short-lived, as he proceeded to head to Lithuania to join the BC Wolves for the 2024-2025 season.

The 26-year-old can be an impact player on both sides of the floor, serving as a strong post presence. Tar Heel fans saw first-hand just how good the Meridian, Mississippi native can be, as his junior year in Chapel Hill was a breakout season that fans of the UNC basketball program will remember for quite some time.

Now, it appears that Brooks may be coming back to compete in the G League this upcoming season, with the hope of him finding his way onto an NBA roster still at the forefront of his professional basketball plans.

Knowing Brooks, he'll be more than ready to contribute where ever his basketball career takes him.
