Trayanna Crisp has found a new home.

As first reported by Mitchell Northam, the former Tar Heel has committed to Mississippi State. The 5-foot-8 rising senior looks to help her new team reload their roster ahead of th 2025-2026 season.

Crisp spent her first two collegiate seasons at Arizona State before transferring to North Carolina. After being a starter for the Sun Devils, Crisp's playing time took a significant hit as a Tar Heel, playing 20 fewer minutes per game while being relegated to a role off the bench.

Crisp had some strong performances in what will be her lone season as a Tar Heel. She scored in double figures on six separate occasions, including a 19-point outburst in a nail-biting victory over Louisville on the road.

This could be the perfect landing spot for Crisp. Mississippi State put together a solid 22-12 record last season before eventually losing in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Their roster is going to look a lot different this season, as eight players from last year's squad have departed via the transfer portal.

For someone like Crisp, who is looking for an extended opportunity to play, Mississippi State is a program that can certainly offer that chance. With the influx of backcourt depth that North Carolina has on its roster, Crisp likely once again would have been playing in a reserve role, which makes it understandable why she decided to re-enter the transfer portal and pursue better opportunities for herself.

Crisp had some big moments in her lone season as a Tar Heel. The hope is that she can once again be an impact starter in what will be her final season of college basketball.
