This is just absurd/laughable, right? This week, plenty of headlines were made when once-prized North Carolina quarterback Gio Lopez entered the transfer portal. He then committed to Wake Forest not long after making the call to say goodbye to Chapel Hill.

UNC and Bill Belichick lose key transfer in disgusting fashion

Jake Dickert and Wake Forest clearly see something in Lopez that most of us don't. However, a new twist to this tale has arrived, as Dickert has also brought in fellow former UNC QB Bryce Baker in for a visit. So, UNC's ACC foe could end up signing both QBs this winter? That's certainly now on the table:

Former UNC QB Bryce Baker could end up being Wake Forest-bound too

This feels like a bit of a surprise, but reporter Conor O'Neill delivered the news that caught plenty of people off guard. A 4-star signee for the 2025 class, Baker was one and done with the Tar Heels. When he originally committed, the hope was that Bill Belichick would help develop him into a true stud.

Instead of that happening, Baker has decided to continue his college career elsewhere. Wake Forest of course isn't the only team to watch here, as other programs are getting involved. The list includes Virginia Tech, with James Franklin eyeing the youngster.

There appears to be mutual interest too, as Baker has been predicted to land with the Hokies via a 247Sports Crystal Ball pick. Before he shuts down his recruitment, though, Dickert and his staff are looking to give him something to think about.

As for North Carolina's QBs room, former Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards Jr. has committed to play for the Heels next season. He had a ton of hype leading up to last year, but a knee injury in Week 1 totally ruined what was supposed to be a year to remember for him in Madison. Now that he's healthy, he'll look to be a standout for Belichick and deliver in a way that everyone was hoping that Lopez would have.
