The 2025 NBA Draft Combine invitees went out this week, as two former UNC basketball standouts did not make the cut to attend. However, both players will have the chance to earn a trip to compete at the upcoming combine.
RJ Davis and Caleb Love have been invited to the G League Elite Camp, which will take place from May 9-11 in Chicago.

Now, in case you're unfamiliar with how the G League Elite Camp works, here's some more details:
The G League Elite Camp is a two-day event that gives NBA Draft prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of NBA and NBA G League scouts, coaches and front-office executives. The athletes will participate separately in five-on-five games and strength and agility drills.
A select number of players from the draft-eligible group will be invited to participate in the NBA Draft Combine later on in the week based on their performance in the NBA G League Elite Camp.
Of course, both players would've loved to have been invited initially to the NBA Draft Combine. However, both will undoubtedly take the opportunity to compete in the G League Elite Camp to showcase their skills, hoping to improve their draft stock in the process.
Davis and Love shared the backcourt in Chapel Hill for three seasons, helping guide the UNC basketball program to the National Championship game in 2022. While Davis stayed at North Carolina for each of his five college seasons, Love transferred to Arizona following his junior season, concluding his college career there.
Both saw a great amount of success, especially over the final two years of their college careers. Davis had a historical season in his true senior season, earning ACC Player of the Year Honors while being named a Consensus First-Team All-American. Love was brilliant that same season, earning the Pac-12 Player of the Year award while also being named an All-American.
There are some fans that still obsess over Love's departure from Chapel Hill, but both of these guys deserve the love and support from Tar Heel faithful as they pursue their NBA dreams. Both made a tremendous impact on the UNC basketball program and look to do that once again at the next level.
