If you were following NFL action throughout the day, it's very likely that you saw some type of notifications about some former UNC football standouts.

In fact, the former Tar Heels made it a habit of finding the end zone.

Led by multiple scores from Drake Maye and Tez Walker, current NFL players who play in the NFL accounted for eight total touchdowns in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.

Let's give you the full breakdown:

Drake Maye

The quarterback of the New England Patriots accounted for three total touchdowns: two passing and one rushing. He led the Patriots to their first victory of the 2025 season, a 33-27 win over the Miami Dolphins.

Mack Hollins

One of Maye's touchdown passes went to another former Tar Heel: Mack Hollins. This connection serves as Hollins' first touchdown as a Patriot.

Tez Walker

Let's face it: Tez Walker is an NFL touchdown machine!

After Sunday's action, the former Tar Heel now has three career receptions. All three have resulted in touchdowns.

On Sunday, Walker found the end zone twice (which you can read more about here).

Dyami Brown

Brown recorded his first touchdown as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, hauling in a pass from former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

Javonte Williams

Williams is already loving being a member of the Dallas Cowboys organization.

Through two games, the former Tar Heel has found the end zone three times, including this 30-yard run against the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. Williams finished just three yards shy of the 100-yard rushing mark and has recorded 194 total yards on 41 touches thus far this season.

This arguably is the most productive day in quite some time that former Tar Heels have had at the NFL level, which is a great sign for the UNC football program. The hope is now that these former Tar Heel stars are set to keep this trend going, making this more of a habit as the 2025 season rolls along.
