Just about 30 minutes before the Tar Heels season opener against Central Arkansas, the program announced that the international transfer has now been cleared to play. After being cleared by the NCAA, the final hurdle came on the University of North Carolina's side as they worked with a third party to determine his eligibility in regard to his credits, but it appears that they just beat the buzzer to make this happen.
This is major news for the UNC basketball program as they begin the 2025-2026 season. Bogavac's status was a major concern leading up to the new season, especially given that he was factored into playing a significant role for this year's team. As game time approached, it seemed more likely that the Tar Heels would at least be without him on opening night, but fortunately, the situation has been resolved.
If we weren't all already hyped enough for this announcement, this pre-game surprise is one that we are all pumped to hear!
The saga is over- now we can enjoy watching Luka Bogavac play for the UNC basketball program.
