Even after a strong week, the UNC women's basketball program can't move up in AP Poll

The UNC women's basketball program saw no movement in this week's AP Top 25 poll.

After defeating Indiana in blowout fashion in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament on Monday and following it up with a dominant victory over NC Central on Friday, we all expected Courtney Banghart and the UNC women's basketball program to move up in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

Well, the jokes on us...

The Tar Heels gained no ground in this week's poll, maintaining the No. 16 spot in the rankings. North Carolina was jumped by TCU, who climbed eight spots to crack this week's top 10.

With Notre Dame's slide, Duke now is the highest-ranked ACC school. The Blue Devils sit at No. 8 in this week's rankings while the Fighting Irish hold the No. 10 spot. Louisville (No. 22) is the other ranked ACC school in this week's poll.

Sure, they always say "don't get caught up in the Top 25 rankings." However... PUT SOME RESPECT ON THE TAR HEELS NAME!

North Carolina has been playing great basketball, as the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament title alone should've earned them at least a one-spot increase in the polls. The UNC women's basketball program will just have to continue proving its worth, as they have a big-time matchup with Kentucky in the ACC/SEC Challenge this week that can definitely help them move up the ranks a week from now.
