At this point in his iconic career, Eric Church has put together hundreds of heartfelt performances while playing some of his incredible country music.

On Saturday night, Church pulled on all of our heartstrings, only this time, he wasn't singing for the majority of his time on stage.

Eric Church delivers a heartfelt commencement speech at UNC

An avid Tar Heel fan, Church, an 11-time Grammy nominee, was tabbed to be the commencement speaker for this year's graduation ceremony at the University of North Carolina. Church delivered an incredible speech that the graduates will remember for quite some time, reminding them that although their days as students at UNC are officially over, Chapel Hill will ALWAYS be home.

"And if you get lost, and at some point you will, you have a place where you belong. Come back, walk through the Quad on a fall day or sit on Franklin Street on a game day, and remember: These are my people, because you are a Tar Heel.

Carry this community with you as you plant your roots."

At the conclusion of his speech, Church pulled out his guitar and sang his hit song "Carolina," one that serves as a perfect tribute to how he (along with many others) feels about Chapel Hill.

In case you're unfamiliar with the song, here's some of the pre-chorus and chorus to give you a sense of how the song connected to the point he was driving home during his speech:

I carry you in my heart
Your memory comes over me like the dark and...

Like a phone call from my baby
Sayin' honey I miss ya like crazy
Like the sound of a siren song
Oh, Carolina, ya keep callin' me home
Callin' me home

In case you didn't get to watch the speech live, we suggest that you take 20 minutes out of your day to do so (via the YouTube link below).

All Tar Heel fans need to hear what Church had to say, as we can all relate to the incredible speech he put together that truly left the graduating Class of 2026 with some valuable wisdom and insight to take with them as they journey off into the real world.
