Five-star talent Anthony Thompson, regarded as one of the top-10 players in the Class of 2026, began his visit to North Carolina on Saturday.
Serving as the first stop on Thompson's official visit tour, the UNC basketball program had the opportunity to make a strong first impression in an effort to separate itself from the pack.
Thompson, a 6-foot-7, 185-pound forward from Hudson, Ohio, shared some photos from his official visit, images where you see him wearing the legendary UNC basketball uniforms.

To add to it, Thompson shared a photo with current Tar Heel and fellow five-star talent Caleb Wilson. Similar to what we saw Armando Bacot do during his time at Chapel Hill, Wilson has taken on the role of spearheading recruiting among the active UNC basketball roster.
I know you loved it here!

Once his visit to North Carolina comes to a close, Thompson has five more visits scheduled over the next month. He'll make stops at the following programs before the month of September comes to a close:
Ohio State: August 29th
Michigan September 5th
Indiana: September 12th
Texas: September 19th
Kentucky: September 24th
After his stop in Lexington, a final decision could be imminent. For now, the UNC basketball program will hope that Thompson's visit to Chapel Hill put the Tar Heels in the drivers seat in regard to his recruitment.
While they wait on Thompson, North Carolina has a slew of visits coming from other top-tier Class of 2026 recruiting targets. With the academic year underway, the UNC basketball program is not only preparing for the 2025-2026 season but also working on the recruiting trail to bring in another elite class next summer.
