5-star UNC target Dylan Mingo will be announcing his decision on ESPN's First Take
As noted by 247Sports' Dushawn London, Mingo will be committing like on ESPN's First Take while with Stephen A. Smith. He'll be doing so at 11:40 a.m. ET. To watch it live, just tune in to ESPN at 11:40 and you'll see whether or not the Heels will win out. If you're looking to stream it, you can do so on the ESPN app or also via FuboTV.
Not long ago, it seemed like Baylor was the favorite in this race, but the Tar Heels upped their efforts and now Davis seems to be in the driver's seat. After landing Caleb Wilson last year, following things up with Mingo sure would be great for the staff.
A 6-5, 190-pounder from New York, Mingo is ranked five stars, the No. 2 combo guard in the country and No. 5 prospect nationally for the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite. He picked up more than 20 offers throughout his recruitment, but only four schools remain in the hunt.
The Tar Heels already signed 5-star small forward Maximo Adams for the '26 cycle, but adding Mingo to the mix would no question make things even sweeter for UNC and Davis. The decision is right around the corner and it can't come soon enough. North Carolina fans are cautiously optimistic some program-changing news will be on the way.
