Former UNC football star Drake Maye was preparing for the biggest game of his young NFL career on Saturday night.
Set to take the field in the AFC Championship game on Sunday afternoon, Maye and his New England Patriots team rolled into Denver for their matchup with the Broncos. Even though clinching a berth in the Super Bowl is the top priority for Maye, it didn't stop him from keeping tabs on the UNC basketball program.
Game Recognize Game
Following the UNC basketball program's victory over No. 14-ranked Virginia, star freshman Caleb Wilson posted photos on his Instagram account. While the future NBA lottery pick received a ton of comments, especially from his current teammates, Maye was in the comments section hyping up the highly-touted prospect.
"That guy."

In typical Caleb Wilson fashion, he had just the perfect response to Maye's comment on his post.
"DRAKE "DRAKE MAYE" MAYE."
In case you're not familiar with the reference, the Drake "Drake Maye" Maye is a viral, self-referential nickname for the former Tar Heel. It originated on social media, signifying that he is in his own category or "just that good."
Wilson knows what's up!
To no surprise, Maye, whose older brother Luke hit one of the biggest shots in program history, is keeping up with everything in Chapel Hill. As someone who has blossomed into an NFL star, Maye is an extremely humble human being, but has no problem identifying greatness when he sees it.
The former Tar Heel quarterback knows how good Caleb Wilson is, as this little interaction on social media not only shows the respect between the two stars, but also shows how the Carolina Family runs extremely deep.
It doesn't matter what sport you play. If you wear the Carolina Blue, you're automatically family.
Now, the hope is that Maye leads the Patriots to another Super Bowl berth. If he does, we'll all be waiting to see if he posts on social media-maybe another interaction with Wilson will be coming!
