It's Drake Maye's world, and we all just live in it.
The former UNC football star is absolutely ballin' during his second season in the NFL, as each week it feels like he just adds onto the historic pace he's on.
His latest outing had him completing 21 of 23 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, leading the New England Patriots to a 31-13 victory on the road against the Tennessee Titans. With the win, the Patriots have surpassed their win total from each of the previous two seasons, and still have 10 games to go!
With this performance, Maye became the first quarterback in franchise history to throw at least 20 passes while having a completion percentage over 90%.
No, Tom Brady never accomplished that!
Speaking of Brady, Maye tied Brady's record of four games of at least 200 passing yards, a 135.0 passer rating and two touchdowns in a single-season. Brady accomplished the feat in 2007, the year in which the Patriots went undefeated in the regular season).
It is likely safe to say that Maye will hold this record for his own, it's simply a matter of time.

Maye has also tied Tom Brady (2007 - the undefeated season!) with 4 games of at least 200 passing yards, a 135.0 rating and 2 passing TDs. 🫨🤯 pic.twitter.com/XJKetrsLLv
For those who will say, "well, he probably was checking the ball down a lot," think again! Maye is the only quarterback this season that has multiple touchdown passes that traveled over 50 yards in the air, including this beauty in which he connected with Kayshon Boutte for the score.
Drake Maye's 39-yard TD pass to Kayshon Boutte traveled 52.6 yards in the air, Maye's 2nd of the season over 50 yards by air distance.

Fans of the UNC football program are simply grinning from ear to ear, as Maye is showing the world just what we all realized from the moment he stepped on campus in Chapel Hill:
This dude is ELITE!
Maye is a major reason why the Patriots have had this resurgence, and it's time to start including him in the category of elite quarterbacks that this league has to offer. He took down Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills, who many consider to be one of (if not the) best quarterback currently in the league) on prime time on the road, and has been the NFL's best overall quarterback over the last six weeks.
The scary thing is: Maye is only 23-years-old. He hasn't even reached his true potential, which will be insane to witness once he gets to that point.
