Drake Maye is just a day away from playing in the biggest game of his life.
The former UNC football star is set to become the first Tar Heel quarterback to ever start a Super Bowl game as he looks to lead the New England Patriots to another championship title on Sunday when they square off against the Seattle Seahawks.
While Maye is focused on his big game, he always bleeds Carolina Blue, as the upcoming Duke vs. UNC rivalry game in Chapel Hill on Saturday night is certainly on his mind as well.
On ESPN College GameDay, a video message from Maye was displayed. The former Tar Heel provided some words of encouragement for the UNC basketball program ahead of the big game, one in which Maye stated he would've been at if he could.
While no one would oppose being there for this big game, we all can agree that we hope this becomes a trend during Maye's NFL career!
Drake Maye's message
Here's what Maye had to say in his video message, which you can also watch by clicking here:
"Tar Heel Nation, what's going on? This is Drake Maye. I'm looking forward to the big game on Saturday. You know, I'd be there if I could. I got a little something else I'm focused on, but you know, I can't wait to watch the game. I'll be cheering. Heels on top. You know I always like the Heels.
Go Heels, Go Pats. I'm Drake Maye, always a Tar Heel!"
We already know how Drake and the entire Maye family bleed Carolina Blue. Even though the week leading up to the Super Bowl can be very time consuming for those competing in the big game, it didn't stop Maye from sending a personalized message to his beloved Tar Heels to hype everyone up before UNC hosts Duke on Saturday night.
He's Drake Maye, and we're so lucky that he is a Tar Heel!
