The heartbreak continues for the North Carolina Tar Heels and Hubert Davis. On Friday night, UNC had a golden opportunity to lock in its trip to the NCAA Tournament, but a heartbreaking loss against Duke was posted.

Jae'lyn Withers is the main topic of conversation right now due to his lane violation, but that's not why this team isn't competing for the ACC Tournament title. Is the loss going to be the nail in the coffin for Davis and his players in terms of making the tourney, though?

That shouldn't be the case if you ask the one and only Dick Vitale. Shortly after the final whistle, Vitale posted on social media that despite the loss, he still thinks the Tar Heels should be going dancing. Plenty of haters think they shouldn't be involved for Selection Sunday, but Vitale strongly disagrees. Here's why:

Is the committee going to listen to Vitale and the great points he made? Yes, everyone is going to bring up the lack of quad one wins and North Carolina's record against strong opponents is pretty disappointing too.

However, this team is playing its best basketball of the season, winning eight of its last 10 games. The only two losses indeed are against Duke, with the Blue Devils being the No. 1 team in the country and being well on their way to being the No. 1 overall seed for the Big Dance.
