The UNC basketball program lost to Duke in the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, and now must sweat through Selection Sunday to see if they'll make the NCAA Tournament.

At halftime, any notion of the postseason seemed fanciful if not delusional. But the Tar Heels showed real heart and grit in the second half, shrinking a 21-point deficit to just one before Jae'Lyn Withers made the cruel mistake of violating the lane as Ven-Allen Lubin was about to tie the game with seconds remaining.

Despite the loss, North Carolina is playing like a Tournament team. Will the Selection Committee see it the same way? Now we wait. While we do, let's look at some lessons learned from a heartbreaking loss to Duke.
