Stop us if you've heard this before, but Caleb Wilson is not human. The former North Carolina star reminded us all of that in a big way in his second Summer League showdown on Monday night, scoring 19 points in a tough Chicago loss to the Jazz. Despite that defeat for the Bulls, Wilson has made countless headlines thanks to an incredible dunk he posted in the middle of the action.
Wilson flew to the rim in acrobatic fashion, and threw the ball down with authority. People in the stands were left speechless, with the list including No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson from Kansas. Peterson was not on the floor for this one due to rest, but the ESPN cameras caught his reaction to Wilson's jam. It was priceless, to say the least:

Caleb Wilson's viral dunk had Darryn Peterson at a total loss for words
Anyone else have a good chuckle when the camera zoomed in on DP's face to showcase his reaction? Peterson was clearly blown away on what Wilson was able to get done with the ball in his hands. If anything, maybe Peterson was a bit jealous he wasn't on the court too ready to impress people in the same way that Wilson has in his first two pro games.
In his debut, Wilson scored 35 points, which was a historic performance for him. Not only that, but he knocked down seven 3-pointers, which people are still talking about. This had everyone fired up to see Wilson and Peterson to go to battle against one another, as the two were top-5 picks in the recent NBA Draft.
However, the deflating news arrived leading up to tip-off that Peterson wasn't going to play, which was a total bummer. Despite that, Wilson donned his Bulls jersey and gave people watching both in person and at home with a memory they're not going to forget about in the near future. Seriously, not too many players can post that kind of a play, and make it look somewhat easy at the same time.
Wilson's jam reminds us of the good old days when Shawn Kemp and Blake Griffin used to provide similar entertainment. We hate to bring up Michael Jordan again, but yeah, it's easy to connect those dots a little bit too. While it's up in the air how much more Summer League fun Wilson will be having (load management), it's been such a great ride thus far.
Wilson is living up to the hype in a big way, as he'll be ready to take his game to the next level too once the regular season gets here later this year. As for Peterson, he's got a bright future as well, but for one night only he was able to kick back and enjoy a fun contest like the rest of us. Luckily for him, Wilson did what he does best: electrify the crowd. While these two didn't face off this time around, they'll surely have some pretty but matchups in the future. We can't wait for those games to arrive.
