Could this transfer's next destination be a short trip down Tobacco Road?

This former Duke Blue Devil would make MAJOR waves if she joined the UNC women's basketball program.

The rivalry between Duke and North Carolina needs no explanation.

We all are aware of how much these rivals hate each other, as the rivalry never disappoints when the two are matched up against each other.

While we probably have thought we've seen just about everything a rivalry like this could offer, another major development surfaced that would add a crazy layer to this already insane rivalry.

According to Talia Goodman of On3, former Duke guard Oluchi Okananwa has received plenty of interest from some high-level programs since entering the transfer portal, including, yes, the UNC women's basketball program.

No, that is not a typo!

It's important to note that interest is simply what it is until it's not. Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels are like every program in the country, exploring every possible option to improve their team for the 2025-2026 season.

Okananwa is a player who at least piques the interest of the Tar Heels, and you can understand why just by looking at her performance against North Carolina in the Sweet 16 just a few weeks ago.

In 28 minutes played, the Boston, Massachusetts native scored 12 points and recorded 12 rebounds en route to helping the Blue Devils secure a spot in the Elite 8. She was a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor as she was the leading scorer off the bench in a low-scoring affair between the two teams.

There are plenty of top-tier teams involved in the mix for Okananwa, and North Carolina has at least thrown their hat into the ring to gauge if there's any mutual interest. If a pairing this offseason were to occur, Okananwa would become the first women's basketball player to play for both sides of the Tobacco Road Rivalry, as her decision to head to Chapel Hill wouldn't make Blue Devil fans happy by any means.
