The Bucks announced that they have agreed to terms on a deal with Ryan. Based on reports, the contract is expected to be an Exhibit-10 deal.
Ryan appeared in five NBA Summer League games, averaging 11.8 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. That was coming off a season in which he played for the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League, putting together a similar stat line (12.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest).
Even though he only spent one season in Chapel Hill, Ryan made a significant impact on the UNC basketball program. During the 2023-2024 season, the year in which the Tar Heels won the ACC regular season crown, Ryan was a leader on and off the court, earning a share of the prestigious Marvin Williams Carolina Way Award, one that honors the Tar Heels who best exemplify playing hard, being unselfish and putting the team first.
Ryan became an instant fan favorite in Chapel Hill, especially when he went absolutely off against rival Duke in the game played at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Fans will remember Ryans ability to come up in the clutch when it mattered the most, as his intensity and team-first mentality made him a fantastic fit for that year's squad.
Now, Ryan looks to find a permanent role in the NBA, one that he definitely is capable of in earning with the Bucks organization. With his ability to shoot the basketball and do the little things that help competing teams win games, Ryan can thrive in any role he's put into, serving as a valuable contributor on whatever roster he's on.
