Chloe Humphrey put together a season to remember, leading the UNC women's lacrosse program to its fourth-ever national championship.
It's only fitting that the redshirt freshman capped off her incredible season by earning the Most Outstanding Player award for her efforts during the NCAA Tournament.

As she's been all season long, Humphrey was a force to be reckoned with during postseason action. She scored four goals and an assist in the Tar Heels crushing victory over Clemson in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, and followed it up with a two goal, two assist performance against Princeton to help North Carolina advance to the Final Four.
On the sport's biggest stage in Foxboro, Massachusetts, Humphrey proved that she was more than ready for the spotlight. In an incredible 20-4 victory over Florida, the Darien, Connecticut native found the back of the net seven times, her most in a single game thus far.
Oh yeah, she also broke the UNC women's lacrosse single-season record for goals in the process!
In the national championship game against Northwestern, plenty of attention from the Wildcats defense was focused on the youngest of three Humphrey sisters. Nonetheless, Chloe Humphrey was able to still score four goals while adding an assist, securing a win to cap off an undefeated national championship season.
Scoring an astounding 90 goals in her first collegiate season is insane in itself. Add to it that she set a program record and was the leading scorer on an undefeated national championship squad, all as a redshirt freshman.
To think that Humphrey still has three seasons of eligibility to work with!
In case you didn't already know her name, get used to hearing a lot about Chloe Humphrey over the next few years. She has the potential to be one of, if not the, best UNC women's lacrosse player ever by the time her career comes to a close.
For now, just enjoy the greatness!
