Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels have had no issues adding some key talent in the transfer portal!
After securing commitments from both Achol Akot and Sophie Burrows, Banghart and her staff struck again, landing a commitment from former Stanford Cardinal Chloe Clardy. All it took was to get Clardy on campus, as the rising senior committed during her official visit.

Clardy, a Conway, Arkansas native, spent her first three seasons at Stanford, helping the program transition from the Pac-12 Conference to the Atlantic Coast Conference. While she's been primarily utilized as a reserve, Conway logged a ton of minutes for her team over the previous two seasons, averaging 30.4 minutes per-game (which are essentially starter-type minutes).
After being used sparingly as a freshman, Clardy earned a clear spot in Stanford's regular rotation starting during her sophomore season.. She has produced double-digit scoring outputs in each of the previous two seasons, including a career-high 12 points per game this past year.
Although her shooting percentages dipped this past season, the hope for Courtney Banghart and the Tar Heels is that they can help her get back to the elite-level shooting she showcased as a sophomore, a season in which she drained 43.4% of her shot attempts and nearly 38% of her attempts from beyond-the-arc.
The Tar Heels have lost some key talent from last year's roster, including three players to the transfer portal, but Banghart and her staff have done a tremendous job in reloading the roster for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Give credit where credit is due: the Tar Heels continue to replenish the talent on the roster, as they have now secured three commitments from players who made official visits this weekend.
Like Armando Bacot once famously said, "if you don’t want to commit to UNC, don’t visit because you will."
